Can I still wash my shoes?

YES! MeggMade custom work maintains the ability to machine wash your shoes! It is highly recommended to hand wash all customized shoes; however, MeggMade custom work remains machine washable.


It is important to note that you air dry your shoes with a shoe tree in the shoe.

What medium is used?

MeggMade Custom Designs are hand stitched with thread. The threads used are typically a polyester, cotton, or blend. If you have an allergy, please reach out.

Can I feel the stitching?

NO! The designs are weaved through the stitching of the of the shoe. You will not be able to feel the thread with your foot in the shoe?

Does the stitching change the feel of the shoe?

Because there is thread being added to the shoe, it will feel more structured than when it comes directly from Rothy's. The shoe remains flexible and will move with your foot as it normally would, without customization. 

Do I need to size up to accommodate customization?

Typically - no. Most people who wear Rothy's have them sized to be a little loose to begin with. If you prefer to wear your shoes "snug" I would suggest sizing up a half size for heel-to-toe designs.

Can I have other brands of shoes customized?

At this time, MeggMade Custom Designs are only being completed on Rothy's shoes. However, it is not out of the realms of possibility in the future. Please check back for updates regarding this.

Do you offer embroidery?

Unfortunately no. I offer no services for traditional embroidery which may include (but is not limited to): Initials, Shapes, Logos, Emblems, Numbers, Letters, etc.

If I come up with an original design can you put it on the shoe?

I can try. But this is not guaranteed. My skills and abilities continue to develop the longer I work in the shoes, but the only designs that I can guarantee are those styles displayed on this site.

Can I have a refund?

Typically, no. Details surrounding terms and conditions are located on this site. Shoes that have been started will be invoiced for a prorated fee. Completed shoes are not refundable under any circumstance. If you've paid for your spot in queue but decided to back out, you agreed to the T&Cs and have forfeited your deposit.

Can I send you 2 shoes even though I'm in queue for 1 pair?

No. Queue is backlogged for over a year. Adding additional shoes after the fact is not fair to the other customers in line. Please be sure to put the correct amount of shoes in your order when you add yourself to queue.
